Our Story
"The VA Fisher House at Jefferson Barracks provides free temporary lodging to family members or caregivers who are far from home and attentive to their Veterans' or active-duty Service Members' medical care, when the patient is receiving care that is funded and coordinated by the VA."
About the Organization
This website is by the Friends of Fisher House St. Louis, a non-profit organization which supports the VA Fisher House at Jefferson Barracks in many ways, and has long-range plans to build a second Fisher House by the John Cochran VA Hospital.
The Fisher House in St. Louis is located on the grounds of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center at Jefferson Barracks. Since opening in 2010, the house has served over 14,250 guests and saved local families approximately $12 million in lodging costs.

What We Do
The Fisher House provides free temporary housing for military families and caregivers while their veteran or service member receives VA medical care.
Families are welcomed into a warm, home-like environment so they can focus entirely on their loved one's recovery without financial stress.
The Friends of Fisher House St. Louis is a non-profit organization that supports the house through fundraising, volunteering, and community partnerships.
We have long-range plans to build a second Fisher House by the John Cochran VA Hospital to serve even more veterans and families in the St. Louis area.
Reach out to the VA Fisher House Staff or the Friends of Fisher House St. Louis to learn how you can help.
